The Guiyang low-altitude flight service base was launched on April 28 in Xiuwen county, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, marking a major step forward in developing the region's low-altitude economy.
Spanning over 300 mu (20 hectares), the base features a 600-meter runway, a 9,000-square-meter training and office complex, a 3,000-sq-m assembly workshop, and a 500-sq-m exhibition hall for low-altitude aircraft. It forms a comprehensive industrial chain that integrates R&D, manufacturing, training, and real-world applications.
At the launch ceremony, Guizhou Silver Eagle Aviation Co signed cooperation agreements with several companies to advance drone technology and explore applications in inspection, mapping, and emergency response.
"We'll soon partner with schools to promote industry-education integration and plan to host trial flights and drone soccer competitions," said Li Song, executive deputy general manager of Silver Eagle. "Our goal is to build a 3,000-member flight operation team focused on plant protection services, river patrols, forest monitoring, and heavy-lift operations." The base will also offer CAAC-certified drone pilot training and low-altitude sightseeing tours.
In the coming years, the base aims to establish an interconnected low-altitude logistics, passenger, and operation network that spans urban and rural areas. It will also serve as a hub for aircraft R&D, advanced manufacturing, and testing.
