Guiyang puppet show shines at China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week

The 2025 China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week opened on July 26 in Gui'an New Area, Southwest China's Guizhou province, under the theme "Smart Education Empowering People-to-People Exchanges, Educational Cooperation Enhancing Common Development".

Guiyang puppet shows, a provincial-level intangible cultural heritage item, were featured on July 26 and 27 during the cultural exchange performances at Yunman Lake, offering audiences a rich taste of Guizhou's unique folk traditions.

A hands-on puppet manipulation session gave visitors an up-close look at the artistry behind this centuries-old craft.

The event not only highlighted the value of traditional culture, but also helped draw in visitors, supporting the region's integration of culture and tourism.
