Guiyang holds China-US youth basketball friendly

A China-US youth basketball friendly was held on Oct 13 at Guiyang No 1 High School in Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province, with students from Guiyang No 1 High School and Utah Prep Academy in the US forming mixed teams to compete on the court.

"It was a great game, both sides performed well and had a great time together," said Aaron Malone, member of the men's basketball team at Utah Prep Academy.

"Sports have no borders, and basketball has built a bridge for cultural exchange between China and the US, deepening our friendship with US students," said Zhang Zhenlan, a student at Guiyang No 1 High School, who exchanged phone numbers with US friends. "We got along very well and hope our friendship will last forever."

The game was an important part of the China-US Youth Basketball Invitational and People-to-People Exchange Camp (Guizhou).

During their journey, the US teachers and students also visited iconic attractions such as the Guizhou Long March Culture Digital Art Museum, Jiaxiu Pavilion, and Qianlingshan Park, experiencing Guizhou's unique natural scenery and profound cultural heritage.

Kyle Spencer, head of Utah Prep Academy, said, "The beautiful natural scenery impressed us, and Chinese friends' hospitality made us feel at home. The students have gained knowledge and made new friends here. This trip to Guizhou was unforgettable!"
