A Singaporean tourist surnamed Lee arrived at Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport in Southwest China's Guizhou province on Feb 20, passing through a smart e-gate to complete facial recognition, identity verification, and data entry in just a few seconds – an experience he described as "super convenient for traveling to China".

"Guizhou has left me with a great first impression," Lee said. The entire customs clearance process requires no direct contact with staff members, with the smart e-gate handling all tasks in seconds, giving visitors a taste of the city's stylish, intelligent, and highly efficient international travel services.

This "instant customs clearance" is the first smart convenience service that inbound travelers experience upon arriving in Guizhou. At the airport's immigration inspection hall, arriving passengers can now pass through inspection smoothly without long queues, with both smart e-channels and manual counters open simultaneously, allowing immigration procedures to be completed in seconds.

According to statistics from the Guizhou General Station of Exit and Entry Frontier Inspection, during this year's Spring Festival travel rush, the Guiyang port is expected to handle over 30,000 inbound and outbound trips. Most travelers take short trips or return home for family reunions, with passenger flow concentrated on routes to and from South and Southeast Asia.

To manage the Spring Festival travel peak, the general station upgraded and maintained all smart inspection channels and equipment in advance. During peak periods, all e-channels and manual counters were opened, with their ratio flexibly adjusted based on flight schedules and passenger flow forecasts.

The average clearance time for domestic and overseas travelers in Guizhou has been reduced by 25 percent, with the average time for overseas travelers falling below eight minutes.
