According to Rong Xiaoxiao, secretary general of the Guizhou-Hong Kong-Macao Tourism Alliance and chairman of Navigator International Tourism Services (Guizhou) Co, the first inbound cherry blossom viewing tour group of the year arrived in Guiyang on Feb 26, with the Gui'an Cherry Blossom Park as the core itinerary.
Throughout March, the company is expected to receive 1,200 visitors from 52 overseas tour groups, of which 83 percent are focused on cherry blossoms. Compared to the same period in 2025, the number of groups will grow by over 50 percent, while total visitor numbers will surge by 112 percent.

Rong noted that beyond traditional sources such as Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Macao, tourists from the United Kingdom, Thailand, and Germany are also arriving in growing numbers. A notable trend is the significant increase in long-haul visitors from Europe and the United States, with tourists from visa-exempt countries accounting for over 80 percent of arrivals. Meanwhile, family trips and senior tour groups are also seeing rapid growth.
In Rong's view, the Gui'an Cherry Blossom Park's appeal to international visitors lies in its unique, irreplaceable advantages: spanning 24,000 mu (1,600 hectares) with 700,000 cherry trees, it is the world's largest contiguous cherry blossom landscape, offering a visual impact far beyond the experience of urban park-style cherry viewing. The park has been featured multiple times by the BBC and on the overseas social media accounts of China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The park's free admission and relatively manageable visitor density also make it a more cost-effective, comfortable, and immersive cherry blossom experience for overseas tourists.
