A new batch of chainless G-ebike featuring the carbon-fiber 2.0 version – a kind of electric-assisted bicycle – produced by Guizhou Quantum Dynamics Technology Co, located in Gui'an New Area, Southwest China's Guizhou province, has been shipped to Spain.
This "Made in Gui'an" product, which combines lightweight and foldable advantages with core technology patents, has entered the international market after three years of research and development, demonstrating the innovation strength of Guizhou's high-tech enterprises.
According to Yang Zongzhan, the company's project general manager, the chainless G-ebike is a new generation of electric-assisted bicycle positioned between a bicycle and a scooter.
The entire vehicle weighs less than 10 kilograms – smaller, lighter, and foldable. In addition, the company's R&D team made technological breakthroughs in battery management, drive systems, lightweight design, and handling performance.
The company settled in Gui'an in 2017. Since its establishment, it has focused on the research and development of mobile electric drive systems. From an assembly-based model to independent R&D of core technologies, and then to integrated handlebars and cranks, the team has reduced the total number of bicycle parts to 120 – nearly half that of traditional models.
Yang outlined the company's next steps. It aims to achieve mass production and sales of the G-ebike series, with financing secured. Two production bases – with an annual capacity of 100,000 units each and driven by new quality productive forces – will be built in Gui'an, targeting an output value and sales of 1.5 billion yuan ($220.03 million) within two years.
It will also draw inspiration from the Chinese motorcycle startup ZXMOTO and cultivate a homegrown bicycle brand that leads the world in the field of lightweight folding bicycles.
