Guizhou introduces new clearance model for China-Laos train operation

The first return China-Laos freight train operating under the new "bonded logistics + railway fast clearance" model arrived at Guiyang International Land Port on Aug 23, carrying 40 standard containers of 1,100 metric tons of imported potassic fertilizer after departing from Vientiane South Railway Station in Laos and reaching Guiyang in just five days.

This arrival marks the entry of Guizhou's return China-Laos freight service into the "railway fast clearance" era, representing a breakthrough in the international logistics corridor between Guizhou and Southeast Asia.

The "bonded logistics + railway fast clearance" model is a highly efficient international customs clearance procedure. Under this system, the train does not need to stop at the port of entry; instead, it can proceed directly to the Guiyang Customs for clearance formalities.

As a key node of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, Guizhou has deepened economic and trade cooperation with ASEAN countries in recent years.

The China-Laos Railway, a flagship project under the Belt and Road Initiative, provides a convenient international rail artery for trade between Guizhou and ASEAN countries such as Laos and Thailand.

Guiyang International Inland Port will continue to expand the operational scale of freight services along the China-Laos Railway and develop two-way, multi-category trade to further enhance its international logistics organization capabilities.

It will also accelerate its development into an international trade transshipment and consolidation hub connecting ASEAN, Central Asia, and Europe, as well as a key international logistics hub in Southwest China, encouraging Guizhou's integration into the new dual-circulation development pattern of domestic and international markets.
